Yall i sped through this fic in four hours in the middle of the night it's so good and everything is SO SATISFYING. midoriya is a force to be reckoned with and minor characters like shinsou, hatsume, and monoma have THEIR MOMENTS!! and i love it. i can usually speed read fics, but i had to slow down quite a bit to take in the fight scenes correctly. there's a lot of time skipping (back and forth) but it's clear when it's time skipping. there's also a lot of code names used, so it might get confusing from time to time. if you don't know class 1-a and 1-b by name and appearance, you'll have to do a lot of googling if you want to visualize everything. but even so, the fic is just... amazing to me.

don't forget, just because the topic isn't trending anymore, doesn't mean the problem is gone. blm protests are still happening. police reform is stalling as the topic is being forgotten. breonna taylor's murderers have still not been charged with her death. lebanon still needs help. since the beginning of august, wildfires in argentina have destroyed triple what wildfires had from 2017-2019. there are essentially concentration camps in the united states. abolish ICE. they are sterilizing women, separating families, poisoning them, abusing them.

in regards to change.org
the bulk of what i know is that the donations done on change.org go directly to their corporation. what i've read tells me that they use the money to help push these issues to the public eye + important people.
i'm not in a position to donate, but i would personally be uncomfortable donating on this site, because it goes back to the corporation and because i'm misinformed. i don't know where to see the money goes and i don't know where to find more information about this for-profit site.
that isn't to say avoid the site entirely. to my knowledge, signing petitions still make a difference. but maybe think about other places your donations could go.
i'm always open to anyone who wants to give me sources to better inform myself!

this year has been... something lmao
with all of those bad somethings, though, comes good somethings. mainly, now that we're all quarantined with no outside forces to distract us from the shit happening in the world, activism is at like, an all time high.
so... yay! it's easier than ever to help! but... there's a lot to try to help.
the media keeps punting bad event after bad event into our faces. there's numerous petitions to sign, numerous topics to bring awareness to, numerous events to go to, community activities to do, all to make a change. it makes sense that eventually we would get activism burnout.
it's draining. sometimes things don't turn out the way you want. yet another issue comes up that feels like it's impossible to help. sometimes you just get plain tired.
in my opinion, it's okay if you want to take a break from activism to focus on yourself. you can't help others if you're mental health is being boggled down from every single tragedy in the world. as long as you get back up and continue to help, i don't see an issue with blocking it from your peripheral for just a moment to recuperate.
but fuck if it doesn't make me feel guilty lmao. bad things don't stop happening, even if you don't see it. even if we're not affected by it, others are, and they can't stop fighting, so why should we? that is why this is a ✨controversial opinion ✨. i still don't have all the answers. i hate feeling selfish for taking time to rest. but sometimes that's what you have to do to work at your best.
